Cricket Academy launched in partnership with Surrey County Cricket Club

St Francis Xavier Catholic Sixth Form is delighted to announce a new partnership with Surrey County Cricket Club, encouraging students applying for September 2024 to apply for the new Sixth Form State School Cricket Programme.

The programme is available to male and female young people who have a developing talent for cricket and are looking to take their skills to the next level. It will also support those that have an interest in cricket and want to learn more about a career in the sport.

Surrey is working with St Francis Xavier Catholic Sixth Form College to offer students the opportunity to complete their sixth form academic studies alongside access to high quality cricket coaching, and strength and conditioning training.

All students will also have the opportunity to undertake ECB coaching qualifications alongside certified courses in scoring and umpiring, supporting students to gain employment within the world of cricket.

There will also be opportunities for those on the programme to learn more about cricket as a business via the employability workshops which offer opportunities for the students to learn new skills that will benefit them throughout their future careers. These will include workshops within areas such as Food and Beverage, Marketing, Media, Groundskeeping and more.

They will also find out about the many exciting careers at the Kia Oval and throughout Surrey County Cricket Club alongside their College studies, giving them valuable insights into future employment opportunities.”
