Year 12 students from A-level Biology and Level 3 Applied Science spent the weekend in the sunshine at Juniper Hall Field Study centre set in the beautiful and picturesque Surrey countryside.
During their 3-day stay, the students enjoyed a range of outdoor activities including measuring populations, studying succession, and designing and carrying out their own practical investigation. Highlights included ‘snail varnishing’, setting and checking small humane mammal traps (with a successful catch!) and scientific drawing. The students also took part in real scientific research with their results to be added to the National Biodiversity Network.
