Creston – studying year two of BTEC Level 3 Ext Dip Business Studies

Creston (18), former student of Archbishop Lancfranc Academy, is set to be an Athletics superstar. He began running when he was 11 years old inspired by his family of runners, especially his sister and is now representing England under 20s Athletics. Here he tells us how he manages his training alongside his studies and why he loves running so much.

Q: Why do you like running?

A: I have a real passion for it. It’s a good environment, around good people who are constantly encouraging and motivating you.

Q: How do you cope with College and training?

A: I have to be really disciplined and plan as much as possible. As soon as I get an assignment I work on it straight away. I also recently had a part time job stewarding at Emirates Stadium, alongside training 4 times a week and College study – it was busy but worth it.

Q: What do you like about studying BTEC L3 Ext Dip in Business Studies?

A: There is quite a bit of pressure but you just have to plan your work. It’s a great course with lots of opportunities.

Q: Do you plan to go to University?

A: Yes. I’d like to study Sports Management so I need to get a Distinction in my BTEC. I’m applying to Brunel, Hertfordshire and Loughborough.

Q: What do you like about studying at SFX?

A: The facilities are great – I use the gym a lot.

How Creston prepares for a race:
