Sir Robert McAlpine Visit

On Thursday 3rd February 2022, two representatives from Sir Robert McAlpine (SRM), Lucy and Irina, came into college to work with the year 12 and year 13 Engineering students. The session began with an opening the session from Lucy introducing students to SRM and details on the Battersea Project. This was then followed by Irina, who ran a 60 minutes interactive BIM activity. SRM brought in tablets loaded up with their own software, as used by their engineers, for the students to use. This gave students an exciting ‘hands-on’ opportunity to interact with the SRM model and experience the same technology that the team use. The session ended with a short summary and career options with final Q&A for students. A thoroughly insightful and enjoyable afternoon, many thanks to SRM for visiting us at SFX!
