Ready 4 Work

The Ready 4 Work Programme provided our Year 12 learners with an insight into the exciting world of work. We were proud to invite some of our ex-students and local employers into our Sixth Form to give our students an insight into their industries and job roles.

During the three day event, our students took part in a skills-building workshop to help strengthen their interpersonal and communication skills. The session was hosted by Olivia Patten a youth & community consultant and also one of our alumni.

We also had a variety of speakers from companies like Global, QBE Insurance, Ministry of Sound, Dreaming Fish and The Department of Work and Pension come into the College and speak to our students about their industries.

The last and final day involved our students coming into college dressed in business attire to attend a mock interview they had been preparing for during the 3-day programme. A lot of the students found this experience to be helpful in preparing them for future job interviews, with one student saying “I really enjoyed it, I was interviewed by a governor and received really detailed feedback. This is super helpful, as I have a job interview next week, so I now know what to work on”.
