The Football Academy Programme is taken alongside BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business
There will be both girls teams and boys teams and students on the SFX Football Programme will take part in:
2. Video Analysis
Hudl are the market leaders in performance analysis, which involves watching games of football to analyse how players and teams play through video and statistics, just like the pundits on TV. Students will analyse three main areas; notational analysis, team analysis, and individual player analysis to produce mini presentations on their findings.
Students will complete an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is worth an additional half an A-Level and can significantly support their university application as well as their own sporting development (see page ** for more information on EPQ).
In addition to our Programme Entry Requirements, applicants must also meet specific Course Entry Requirements:
Grade 4 in Maths
BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business (or equivalent) with Merit
The course is assessed via coursework including written assignments, presentations, consultations, practical assessments, video evidence and creative work such as posters or models produced.
Students can progress from this programme into a full-time football career, university degrees in a variety of Sports Science courses including Sport & Exercise Science, Physiotherapy, Performance Analysis, Personal training as well as Engineering, Business and Education. Pupils can also have the opportunity to take part in a Football Scholarship abroad, in particular in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. They can also consider semi-professional football with the Balham FC first team, who compete in non-league as well as in the FA cup and FA Vase.
