Why Work With Us?

We understand that, as a school, you want the best for your students when it comes to their study options after GCSEs, and want them to succeed. Every student will have different interests and aspirations, and sometimes they may have to look outside of their school to meet these. In those situations, we welcome the opportunity to work with you in helping your students take the most appropriate next steps for them.

That is why we believe Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Sixth Form College can be a great partner for you to work with.

Course Choice

The Baker Clause sets out the reasons why it is important that students are informed about all of the educational choices available to them. For those students hoping to take a course or combination that you cannot provide, we may be able to help. Unlike some other sixth form colleges, we offer the opportunity to take any combination of 30 A level subjects, and we organise our timetable accordingly to avoid clashes. In addition, students can choose from a wide range of 11 Level 3 Extended Diplomas including BTEC, CTEC, T Levels and University of the Arts London (UAL) courses. We also have Level 2 and Foundation options available.

A Good Academic Home for Your Students

Rated “Good with Outstanding Features” by Ofsted in 2023, our high quality of teaching, facilities and academic support help every student get the best grades possible, and succeed.

In 2025, we continued to achieve excellent results:

  • Our Level 3 students managed an outstanding 97% pass rate in 2025, with 50% achieving top grades of A*-B/D*-D.
  • 31 courses had a 100% pass rate
  • 18 A level courses achieved 100% pass rate
  • 9 BTEC/UAL Level 3 Extended Diplomas achieved 100% pass rate
  • 100% pass rate on all Level 1 and Level 2 courses
  • An impressive 94% of our 400+ UCAS applicants progressed to university – far higher than most colleges

Student Support

We take the physical and mental health of our students seriously, and offer a full range of services designed to help foster wellbeing at the college. We have an excellent pastoral care system. Each student has a Personal Tutor to guide them alongside their subject teachers. We have a specialist welfare team; together with the designated Safeguarding Officer, there is a College Counsellor and a Student Welfare Officer on hand to support students experiencing personal worries or concerns. We also have an Additional Learning Support team who are there to help students with specialist learning needs, as well as any student who is struggling academically.

School Liaison

We truly value the relationships we have with schools, and understand how important it is for you to provide your students with information on the options available after year 11, particularly following the introduction of the Baker Clause in January 2018. We make it as easy as possible for you to provide your students with information about our college and the opportunities we can offer them.

Visiting Your School

Post-16 Events & Careers Fairs
If you are holding a post-16 careers event for your students, we would be delighted to attend and chat to them about all the courses we offer.

Parents’ Evenings
We can set up a stall at parents’ evenings to be available to answer any questions from parents and students.

Drop-in Sessions
Drop-in sessions can be held during a lunch time or whenever is most convenient for you. We only need a small space to set up a stall, and students can come and see us as they please.

Application Workshops
If your students are thinking of applying or need assistance with completing their application, we can come in during a lunch time or after school and work through the application with them. For application workshops we would ideally need access to computers for the students to use, but can otherwise provide paper applications.

Assemblies
Assemblies are offered throughout the year for both year 10 and year 11 students, usually consisting of a presentation about Saint Francis Xavier and an inspirational talk from our Student Presidents. We can focus assemblies on a topic of your choosing, such as putting an emphasis on the BTEC and UAL courses we offer, or the importance of achieving Grade 5s in their GCSEs.

Group Tours
We can provide a tour of the College with Q and A session for a group of your students with the option of an application workshop at the end of the tour for any students who would like to apply.

Open Day Group Visits
We can make special arrangements for students from your school to attend our open days in groups.

What Our
Students Say

The support I received from passionate teachers who pushed me to aim higher, to the tailored guidance with university applications made all the difference. SFX believed in my potential even when I doubted myself, and that encouragement gave me the confidence to pursue my ambitions. Without that foundation, I don’t think I’d be on the path to a legal career today.
