Information Technology BTEC Level 2 First Extended Certificate

Course type: Level 2 Diplomas • Awarding/exam body: Pearson
Equivalent to 3 GCSEs.

In this course, students will learn how I.T. operates in business and industry and apply these ideas in a series of assignments and projects. These include doing research into how computers are used, using software packages to write reports and preparing presentations. 

The course can be taken alongside English Language and Maths GCSE retakes.

Course Assessment

Assessment will be carried out by teaching staff and the grades will then be sent to Pearson for moderation. Some units will be assessed through externally assessed examination. 

This Course Can Lead To…

Successful completion offers students several routes for progression: direct entry into employment within business/industry with training or further learning opportunities to progress to Level 3 of a vocational qualification in the same or a related area e.g. BTEC Level 3 Ext Diploma in I.T.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade 3 (including Grade 3 in English Language and Maths).
