SFX Oxbridge & Russell Group Programme

At SFX we believe in supporting students to reach their full potential. If you have achieved outstanding GCSEs and are hoping to progress to highly selective universities then this is the programme for you. On this programme you are expected to:

  • Study at least two facilitating subjects* and to attend additional stretch and challenge classes.
    • Complete the Extended Project Qualification to develop your critical, reflective and problem-solving skills and to support your application to university.

*Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English Literature, Geography, History, French and Spanish.

This programme will develop your thinking and debating skills and provide you with an insight into the university admissions process. You will also have access to academic lectures and seminars, placements on university master classes and summer schools, as well as practice interviews and visits to universities. We regularly organise debates with Members of Parliament and local councillors and have hosted talks from a variety of university professors. Medical, dentistry and veterinary degrees are some of the most challenging and competitive degree courses.

Medics, Dentists and Vets

Medical, dentistry and veterinary degrees are some of the most challenging and competitive degree courses. At SFX we have a dedicated medic, dentist and vet nurture group which supports students in applying to these courses by assisting them in securing dedicated work experience placements, visiting lecture sessions in universities and running workshops and practice interviews.

Talks & visits have included:

  • Oxford and Cambridge Universities
  • Study trip to Paris
  • Conference at LSE
  • Study workshops at the British Museum
  • Visiting talk from Sadiq Khan –Mayor of London
  • Visiting talk from Chuka Umunna – MP for Streatham
  • Visiting talk from Baroness Grender – Liberal Democrat Life Peer
  • Black History and Cultural Activities
  • Education workshops at the Wellcome Collection.
