SFX Student Presidents give GCSE advice to year 11 students

  • Published: 24th March 2017

As the GCSE exams approach, our SFX student President Lara and Vice President Abigail have been taking time out of their own busy revision schedule to visit local schools and pass on their top GCSE revision tips to Year 11 students in order to help them to do their best in the upcoming exams.

Last week Abigail spoke to students from Notre Dame Girls’ School, and this week Lara held an assembly with students at Platanos college. The Year 11 students appreciated the advice from someone who understands what they are going through – Platanos student Aseel said “the GCSE tips were useful” and Sharmin has decided to follow Lara’s advice; “I am going to get all the past papers, as Lara said, to help me pass my exams.”

Here are the top tips from our student President and Vice President:

  • Find a revision buddy to motivate you
  • Get enough sleep
  • Eat healthily- find healthy snacks to keep you going whilst revising
  • Go for a walk or jog when you need to take a study break
  • Organise your revision notes according to subjects – use folders, flash cards and colour codes
  • Do practise papers
  • Write keywords from your topics onto sticky notes and put them up around your room
