The SFX Football Academy is a new course for this academic year, with students studying a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport & Exercise Science alongside their additional football training, matches and performance analysis qualification.
The academy staff will be awarding the most professional player of the team the “Top-Pro Player Award” every half term. For the first half-term of the year, the honour has been awarded to Brandon Huie. Brandon has had 100% attendance and represented the Football team brilliantly, recently being named as team captain. Brandon’s tutors and coaches explained why he has been given the award; “having trained now for six weeks with the squad, Brandon has shown an excellent attitude towards the training programme and his education. Not only is Brandon performing to a high standard with his studies, he is working extremely hard on the pitch which has earnt him the opportunity to represent Balham FC’s Under 18 Squad in the Combined Counties Youth League. Keep up the hard work Brandon!”
On receiving the award, Brandon said “I like playing for Balham SFX Academy because the training is at a really good standard. I want to try and play at the highest level I can and also train to be a Physiotherapist.”
