Jack Petchey Foundation shines a spotlight on SFX Student

At SFX we regularly take part in the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme, a scheme that runs across London and Essex in which students and staff can nominate a member of the student body who they feel deserves recognition and celebration of their achievements.  Selected students receive a framed certificate & badge and membership to the Jack Petchey Foundation Achievers community, as well as receiving £250 to be spent on something they think will benefit the college and the learning of the students.  Award winners are also invited to attend a special celebration event to be further celebrated in front of friends and family.

This month Jack Petchey have shone a special spotlight on an award winner from SFX, Alice. Alice completed her A Level studies in Business, Politics, Psychology and an Extended Project Qualification in June having already taken Italian at AS level, all while working two part-time jobs.  Throughout her time at SFX Alice has received constant praise from her tutors for her achievements: an almost perfect attendance and punctuality record, going beyond what has been asked to put in extra work, representing the college at internal and external events such as TEDxBrixton, assisting other students with work and revision when they have been struggling and taking part in charity drives during the refugee crises.  Alice decided to put the £250 she was awarded towards a special revision day for her fellow politics students.

Congratulations to Alice, we are very proud to count you as a member of our student body!
