Derine is a former student of Aylwin Girls School (now Harris Academy, Bermondsey) and came to SFX because of the college’s top position in the college league table. SFX provided the courses she wanted and she really liked the feel of the college at her interview.
At Queen Mary College, London, she took a degree in French and Spanish and has now completed her M.A. in International Relations at Goldsmith’s College.
She intends now to work for a major international organisation like the United Nations or the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
Future students should, she says, “work hard for their GCSEs and use all the excellent services at SFX (e.g. enrichment programmes) – it looks good on your Uni reference if you’re from SFX.”
