The full A Level award is divided into two stages, AS (Advanced Subsidiary) and A2. The AS can be certificated in its own right as a stand alone qualification at the end of your first year of study. To achieve the full A Level qualification you must proceed to the second part, the A2 units. The AS units, along with the A2 units, deliver the full Advanced Level qualification.

Progression: from AS to A2 is dependent upon the successful completion of your AS examination at grade D or above, plus satisfactory completion of the core curriculum. The majority of students progress from A2 to university. Some students seek employment on completion of the qualification.

Assessment: There is an examination session in January and June of each year.

Minimum Entry Requirements For all AS courses: 6 passes at GCSE Grade C or above, including English and Maths, however applicants should be aware that a minimum of Grade B in Maths AND English is required for many subjects.
