The Learning Resources Centre at SFX

The LRC has excellent study and IT facilities, with over 70 computers and 48 private study desks. The library area includes over 30,000 up-to-date books, audio- books, DVDs and CD Roms, plus a selection of magazines and newspapers.  In addition all students have access to online subscription services, including online encyclopedias, dictionaries, newspapers, journals, revision sites and a wide range of e-books.  We believe strongly in the importance of reading for enjoyment and so providean excellent range of books to support wider reading, fiction and general interests. The LRC is where students can study in a quiet, safe, supportive environment and expert help and guidance is always on hand from the qualified librarians. We have generous opening hours, opening at 8.15am and closing at 5pm, apart from Tuesdays and Thursdays when we are open until 7pm.

Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)

The College has built up a substantial virtual learning environment, known as SFX Moodle, which offers additional learning and assessment resources, closely targeted to your programme of study and this is available 24/7. It is also the route by which work may be submitted to tutors. SFX Moodle also provides a platform for interactive learning with blogs, forums, wikis, podcasts and quizzes. Students can also create their own e-portfolios to showcase their work to their tutors and to potential universities and employers.
