Inspection Report

OFSTED inspectors visited SFX in May 2009 and confirmed that SFX is an “outstanding” College. During their visit the inspectors visited classes and spoke to a large number of staff, students, parents, governors and other College “stakeholders” before coming to their conclusion that “the overall effectiveness of the provision is outstanding”.
The focus of this inspection was very much on the ethos of the College as well as teaching and learning; one of the key strengths identified by the Inspectors is the “very strong and supportive Catholic ethos.” Other highlights from the report are:
“consistently high success rates, especially on advanced courses”, “excellent progress by students on a wide range of programmes”, “outstanding guidance and support for students”, “outstanding teaching and learning,” “outstanding promotion of equality of opportunity”.
