Introduction:

This programme is an excellent choice for students wishing to study an Advanced course in Health and Social Care. It promotes a wide range of academic and vocational skills which employers and providers of Higher Education are looking for. This programme is the equivalent of three A Levels and most students go on to University to study subjects such as Psychology, Teacher Training, Social Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Complimentary Therapies, Social Work and Health Sciences. A broad based qualification designed to prepare students for a range of careers in Health and Social Care or for entry into Higher Education. Work placement is a mandatory requirement of the course.

Awarding Body: Edexcel

Specific Course Entry Requirements: In addition to the Minimum Entry Requirements you will need a grade C in Maths and Grade C in Core Science preferred but not essential OR BTEC Level 2 Diploma in a relevant Level 2 qualification with Distinction.

All students will under go a Criminal Records Board enhanced check in line with Ofsted regulations for those who work with children and vulnerable adults.  The physical, emotional and academic demands of the Health and Social course demand a strong commitment and determination as well as excellent attendance, punctuality and health.
