Introduction:
Critical Thinking is completely different to any other AS course, as it does not involve any subject-specific content. AS Level Critical Thinking teaches you essential skills of reasoning, argument and analysis that can be applied to any area of study. These skills could be called semi-philosophical, since the course is about teaching students how to analyse problems and topical issues in an informed manner. Learning these skills will also help you to do well in your other subjects. Critical Thinking is very useful for those students considering studying Law, History, Politics or English at university, it is often combined with A2 levels in a students’ second year.
Please note, Critical Thinking is only offered at SFX as an AS course.
Exam Board: OCR
Specific Course Entry Requirements:
In addition to the Minimum Entry Requirements you will need a grade B in GCSE English Language, and grade C in GCSE Mathematics.
