Introduction:
You will study prose and drama texts which will be examined alongside a range of non-literary and spoken texts, allowing you to explore the connections between them. By focusing closely on the literary and language features, you will go on to develop your own parallel writing skills, producing creative writing that uses a particular style, register and voice. The A2 course extends your study to include an examination of all three genres of prose, poetry and drama to consider variations and connections between texts in different forms. You will also have the opportunity to explore a range of unseen texts which will inform your creative writing skills.

Specific Course Entry Requirements: In addition to the Minimum Entry Requirements you will need a grade B in GCSE English Language and grade B GCSE English Literature. Applicants with a grade C in English Literature may be considered subject to availability.
Additional Information: An ability to write in varied forms, a willingness to read a range of literary and non-literary text as well as a fascination with language.
N.B: This course should not be combined with other AS English courses.
