Strong start for new Art & Design Diploma course
SFX is delighted to report a strong start to the new course which launched in September 2012 called the University of Arts London (UAL) Pre-University Extended Diploma in Art & Design. This replaced the old BTEC Extended Diploma in Art & Design and the photography option has proved particularly popular. The new course, equivalent to three A Levels, is not run in schools, only in 6thForms and Colleges that have reached a very high standard in Art & Design education (last year 100% of our Extended Diploma students were accepted to University).
Students at SFX who study on the UAL Pre-University Extended Diploma in Art and Design will benefit from our progression schemes with UAL colleges (some of the best colleges and courses in the country), such as London College of Fashion, Chelsea College of Art & Design, and London College of Communication). This will include specialist summer schools, and extensive support from UAL admissions tutors for SFX students applying to these very competitive colleges.
