Introduction:

At AS level students experience all three main musical disciplines of performing, composing and musical analysis/appreciation. Students will develop performance skills (solo and/or ensemble) compose music and learn about harmony. They will build up their aural and analytical skills by studying selections from the New Anthology of Music and wider listening.

Exam Board: OCR

Specific Course Entry Requirements: In addition to the Minimum Entry Requirements you will need a grade A*-C in GCSE Music OR ABRSM grade 4 Theory OR grade 4 Instrument.

Additional Information: Students will ideally be studying Level 3 courses alongside the Critical Thinking AS Course. An open-minded, committed and motivated attitude to work and study is also essential.
