There will be both girls teams and boys teams and Students on the SFX Football Programme will take part in:
1. Football training – three times a week to support their football development
Students will represent Balham FC, who are currently charter standard club of the year in London and who currently have over 75% of their first team made up of players coming through their academy system such as this programme. They have a partnership with Fulham FC which provides opportunities for trials. Balham FC is also a Nike partner club meaning players will benefit from a host of great offers through the club’s Nike partnership.
2. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport Science (NQF)
Students on the Football programme will take this course. It is designed for students who would like to pursue a career within the sport and exercise science industry. You will develop the skills regarded as essential at degree level and within employment. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to develop and apply your entrepreneurial skills in a range of scenarios.
3. Video Analysis
Have you ever wanted to analyse your own game like the pundits do on TV? On the Football academy course that’s exactly what you can do. Students will have their home matches filmed and with the use of Hudl software they will be able to access that footage securely online via their Phone, Tablet or PC. Pupils will then have chance to make video clips and highlight reels of their own performance that can help support their Football development. Plus as all the clips are saved securely on the Hudl website, pupils can access those clips to use for an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) which is worth just over half an additional A-Level in UCAS points.
Hudl is used in every Premier League Club and are world renowned for their software, helping people analyse their games to the very best level.
