This course is designed for students who would like to pursue a career within the sport and exercise science industry. Students will develop the skills regarded as essential at degree level and within employment. In addition, students will be given the opportunity to develop and apply their entrepreneurial skills in a range of scenarios.

    The majority of the course is assessed via coursework, however a total of 4 units out of the 13 will be assessed via an end of unit exam (see below):

     

    Unit 1: Sport and Exercise Physiology

    Unit 2: Functional Anatomy

    Unit 3: Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology

    Unit 13: Nutrition for Sport and Exercise Performance

     

    Students coursework will be assessed in a variety of ways including written assignments, presentations; consultations; practical assessments; video evidence and creative work such as posters or models produced.

    With this qualification students can go on to university to study sport and exercise science, physiotherapy and other sports-related courses. They can also consider employment as a fitness trainer or a sports coach.

    In addition to our Programme Entry Requirements, applicants must also meet specific Course Entry Requirements:

    Grade 4 in Core Science and Grade 4 in Maths
    OR
    BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sport (or equivalent) with Merit and Grade 4 in Maths
