The assessment will include both internal and external examinations. There are two external examinations per year, each assessment being taken under specified conditions, then marked by Pearson and a grade awarded. Learners must achieve all external units at pass grade or above. External assessments are available twice a year and learners can have only one resit attempt during the programme.
This qualification will enable you to progress to a wide range of degree courses including: Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Radiology, Dental Technology, Physiotherapy, Midwifery, Nursing and Sports Science. Alternatively, it can lead to direct employment in a science-related area, such as laboratory work.
PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to become a doctor, veterinary surgeon or dentist you will be required to complete an additional access/foundation course organised by the accepting medical school.
In addition to our Programme Entry Requirements, applicants must also meet specific Course Entry Requirements:
Grade 4 in Core Science, Grade 4 in Additional Science and Grade 4 in Maths
BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Science with Merit and Grade 4 in Maths
