SFX: The Facts

  • SFX was founded in 1985.Quad 002
  • It was originally a boys’ grammar school.
  • There are over 1450 students on roll (September 2016).
  • We have students joining us from all over the world including America, Canada, Italy, Portugal, Spain and South Africa to name a few!
  • The College is named after Saint Francis Xavier who was born Francisco de Jasso y Azpilicueta (7 April 1506 – 3 December 1552).
  • Saint Francis Xavier was a Basque Roman Catholic missionary born in Xavier, Kingdom of Navarre (now part of Spain), and a co-founder of the Society of Jesus.
  • SFX is an inclusive College so, students are welcomed of all faiths, and none.
  • The College offers over 60 courses, including A levels and Level 2 and 3 Diplomas (BTECs/UALs).
